1
Woe
to
the
rebellious
children,
saith
the
LORD,
that
take
counsel,
but
not
of
me;
and
that
cover
with
a
covering,
but
not
of
my
spirit,
that
they
may
add
sin
to
sin:
2
That
walk
to
go
down
into
Egypt,
and
have
not
asked
at
my
mouth;
to
strengthen
themselves
in
the
strength
of
Pharaoh,
and
to
trust
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt!
3
Therefore
shall
the
strength
of
Pharaoh
be
your
shame,
and
the
trust
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt
your
confusion.
4
For
his
princes
were
at
Zoan,
and
his
ambassadors
came
to
Hanes.
5
They
were
all
ashamed
of
a
people
that
could
not
profit
them,
nor
be
an
help
nor
profit,
but
a
shame,
and
also
a
reproach.
6
The
burden
of
the
beasts
of
the
south:
into
the
land
of
trouble
and
anguish,
from
whence
come
the
young
and
old
lion,
the
viper
and
fiery
flying
serpent,
they
will
carry
their
riches
upon
the
shoulders
of
young
asses,
and
their
treasures
upon
the
bunches
of
camels,
to
a
people
that
shall
not
profit
them.
7
For
the
Egyptians
shall
help
in
vain,
and
to
no
purpose:
therefore
have
I
cried
concerning
this,
Their
strength
is
to
sit
still.
8
Now
go,
write
it
before
them
in
a
table,
and
note
it
in
a
book,
that
it
may
be
for
the
time
to
come
for
ever
and
ever:
9
That
this
is
a
rebellious
people,
lying
children,
children
that
will
not
hear
the
law
of
the
LORD:
10
Which
say
to
the
seers,
See
not;
and
to
the
prophets,
Prophesy
not
unto
us
right
things,
speak
unto
us
smooth
things,
prophesy
deceits:
11
Get
you
out
of
the
way,
turn
aside
out
of
the
path,
cause
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
to
cease
from
before
us.
12
Wherefore
thus
saith
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
Because
ye
despise
this
word,
and
trust
in
oppression
and
perverseness,
and
stay
thereon:
13
Therefore
this
iniquity
shall
be
to
you
as
a
breach
ready
to
fall,
swelling
out
in
a
high
wall,
whose
breaking
cometh
suddenly
at
an
instant.
14
And
he
shall
break
it
as
the
breaking
of
the
potters’
vessel
that
is
broken
in
pieces;
he
shall
not
spare:
so
that
there
shall
not
be
found
in
the
bursting
of
it
a
sherd
to
take
fire
from
the
hearth,
or
to
take
water
withal
out
of
the
pit.
15
For
thus
saith
the
Lord
GOD,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel;
In
returning
and
rest
shall
ye
be
saved;
in
quietness
and
in
confidence
shall
be
your
strength:
and
ye
would
not.
16
But
ye
said,
No;
for
we
will
flee
upon
horses;
therefore
shall
ye
flee:
and,
We
will
ride
upon
the
swift;
therefore
shall
they
that
pursue
you
be
swift.
17
One
thousand
shall
flee
at
the
rebuke
of
one;
at
the
rebuke
of
five
shall
ye
flee:
till
ye
be
left
as
a
beacon
upon
the
top
of
a
mountain,
and
as
an
ensign
on
an
hill.
18
And
therefore
will
the
LORD
wait,
that
he
may
be
gracious
unto
you,
and
therefore
will
he
be
exalted,
that
he
may
have
mercy
upon
you:
for
the
LORD
is
a
God
of
judgment:
blessed
are
all
they
that
wait
for
him.
19
For
the
people
shall
dwell
in
Zion
at
Jerusalem:
thou
shalt
weep
no
more:
he
will
be
very
gracious
unto
thee
at
the
voice
of
thy
cry;
when
he
shall
hear
it,
he
will
answer
thee.
20
And
though
the
Lord
give
you
the
bread
of
adversity,
and
the
water
of
affliction,
yet
shall
not
thy
teachers
be
removed
into
a
corner
any
more,
but
thine
eyes
shall
see
thy
teachers:
21
And
thine
ears
shall
hear
a
word
behind
thee,
saying,
This
is
the
way,
walk
ye
in
it,
when
ye
turn
to
the
right
hand,
and
when
ye
turn
to
the
left.
22
Ye
shall
defile
also
the
covering
of
thy
graven
images
of
silver,
and
the
ornament
of
thy
molten
images
of
gold:
thou
shalt
cast
them
away
as
a
menstruous
cloth;
thou
shalt
say
unto
it,
Get
thee
hence.
23
Then
shall
he
give
the
rain
of
thy
seed,
that
thou
shalt
sow
the
ground
withal;
and
bread
of
the
increase
of
the
earth,
and
it
shall
be
fat
and
plenteous:
in
that
day
shall
thy
cattle
feed
in
large
pastures.
24
The
oxen
likewise
and
the
young
asses
that
ear
the
ground
shall
eat
clean
provender,
which
hath
been
winnowed
with
the
shovel
and
with
the
fan.
25
And
there
shall
be
upon
every
high
mountain,
and
upon
every
high
hill,
rivers
and
streams
of
waters
in
the
day
of
the
great
slaughter,
when
the
towers
fall.
26
Moreover
the
light
of
the
moon
shall
be
as
the
light
of
the
sun,
and
the
light
of
the
sun
shall
be
sevenfold,
as
the
light
of
seven
days,
in
the
day
that
the
LORD
bindeth
up
the
breach
of
his
people,
and
healeth
the
stroke
of
their
wound.
27
Behold,
the
name
of
the
LORD
cometh
from
far,
burning
with
his
anger,
and
the
burden
thereof
is
heavy:
his
lips
are
full
of
indignation,
and
his
tongue
as
a
devouring
fire:
28
And
his
breath,
as
an
overflowing
stream,
shall
reach
to
the
midst
of
the
neck,
to
sift
the
nations
with
the
sieve
of
vanity:
and
there
shall
be
a
bridle
in
the
jaws
of
the
people,
causing
them
to
err.
29
Ye
shall
have
a
song,
as
in
the
night
when
a
holy
solemnity
is
kept;
and
gladness
of
heart,
as
when
one
goeth
with
a
pipe
to
come
into
the
mountain
of
the
LORD,
to
the
mighty
One
of
Israel.
30
And
the
LORD
shall
cause
his
glorious
voice
to
be
heard,
and
shall
shew
the
lighting
down
of
his
arm,
with
the
indignation
of
his
anger,
and
with
the
flame
of
a
devouring
fire,
with
scattering,
and
tempest,
and
hailstones.
31
For
through
the
voice
of
the
LORD
shall
the
Assyrian
be
beaten
down,
which
smote
with
a
rod.
32
And
in
every
place
where
the
grounded
staff
shall
pass,
which
the
LORD
shall
lay
upon
him,
it
shall
be
with
tabrets
and
harps:
and
in
battles
of
shaking
will
he
fight
with
it.
33
For
Tophet
is
ordained
of
old;
yea,
for
the
king
it
is
prepared;
he
hath
made
it
deep
and
large:
the
pile
thereof
is
fire
and
much
wood;
the
breath
of
the
LORD,
like
a
stream
of
brimstone,
doth
kindle
it.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
Say
unto
them
which
daub
it
with
untempered
morter,
that
it
shall
fall:
there
shall
be
an
overflowing
shower;
and
ye,
O
great
hailstones,
shall
fall;
and
a
stormy
wind
shall
rend
it.

1
Wo
to
apostate
sons,
The
affirmation
of
Jehovah!
To
do
counsel,
and
not
from
Me,
And
to
spread
out
a
covering,
and
not
of
My
spirit,
So
as
to
add
sin
to
sin.
2
Who
are
walking
to
go
down
to
Egypt,
And
My
mouth
have
not
asked,
To
be
strong
in
the
strength
of
Pharaoh,
And
to
trust
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt.
3
And
the
strength
of
Pharaoh
Hath
been
to
you
for
shame,
And
the
trust
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt
confusion,
4
For
in
Zoan
were
his
princes,
And
his
messengers
reach
Hanes.
5
All
he
made
ashamed
of
a
people
that
profit
not,
Neither
for
help,
not
for
profit,
But
for
shame,
and
also
for
reproach!
6
The
burden
of
the
beasts
of
the
south.
Into
a
land
of
adversity
and
distress,
Of
young
lion
and
of
old
lion,
Whence
are
viper
and
flying
saraph,
They
carry
on
the
shoulder
of
asses
their
wealth,
And
on
the
hump
of
camels
their
treasures,
Unto
a
people
not
profitable.
7
Yea,
Egyptians
are
vanity,
and
in
vain
do
help,
Therefore
I
have
cried
concerning
this:
`Their
strength
is
to
sit
still.`
8
No,
go
in,
write
it
on
a
tablet
with
them,
And
on
a
book
engrave
it,
And
it
is
for
a
latter
day,
for
a
witness
unto
the
age,
9
That
a
rebellious
people
is
this,
sons
--
liars,
Sons
not
willing
to
hear
the
law
of
Jehovah.
10
Who
have
said
to
seers,
`Ye
do
not
see,`
And
to
prophets,
`Ye
do
not
prophesy
to
us
Straightforward
things,
Speak
to
us
smooth
things,
prophesy
deceits,
11
Turn
aside
from
the
way,
decline
from
the
path,
Cause
to
cease
from
before
us
the
Holy
One
of
Israel.`
12
Therefore,
thus
said
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
Because
of
your
kicking
against
this
word,
And
ye
trust
in
oppression,
And
perverseness,
and
rely
on
it,
13
Therefore
is
this
iniquity
to
you
as
a
breach
falling,
Swelled
out
in
a
wall
set
on
high,
Whose
destruction
suddenly,
at
an
instant
cometh.
14
And
He
hath
broken
it
As
the
breaking
of
the
potters`
bottle,
Beaten
down
--
He
doth
not
spare,
Nor
is
there
found,
in
its
beating
down,
A
potsherd
to
take
fire
from
the
burning,
And
to
draw
out
waters
from
a
ditch.
15
For
thus
said
the
Lord
Jehovah,
The
Holy
One
of
Israel:
`In
returning
and
rest
ye
are
saved,
In
keeping
quiet
and
in
confidence
is
your
might,
And
ye
have
not
been
willing.
16
And
ye
say,
No,
for
on
a
horse
we
flee?
Therefore
ye
flee,
And
on
the
swift
we
ride!
Therefore
swift
are
your
pursuers.
17
One
thousand
because
of
the
rebuke
of
one,
Because
of
the
rebuke
of
five
ye
flee,
Till
ye
have
been
surely
left
as
a
pole
On
the
top
of
the
mountain,
And
as
an
ensign
on
the
height.
18
And
therefore
doth
wait
Jehovah
to
favour
you,
And
therefore
He
is
exalted
to
pity
you,
For
a
God
of
judgment
is
Jehovah,
O
the
blessedness
of
all
waiting
for
Him.
19
For
the
people
in
Zion
dwell
in
Jerusalem,
Weep
thou
not,
weeping,
Pitying,
He
pitieth
thee
at
the
voice
of
thy
cry,
When
He
heareth
He
answereth
thee.
20
And
the
Lord
hath
given
to
you
bread
of
adversity,
And
water
of
oppression.
And
thy
directors
remove
no
more,
And
thine
eyes
have
seen
thy
directors,
21
And
thine
ear
heareth
a
word
behind
thee,
Saying,
`This
is
the
way,
go
ye
in
it,`
When
ye
turn
to
the
right,
And
when
ye
turn
to
the
left.
22
And
ye
have
defiled
the
covering
of
Thy
graven
images
of
silver,
And
the
ephod
of
thy
molten
image
of
gold,
Thou
scatterest
them
as
a
sickening
thing,
`Go
out,`
thou
sayest
to
it.
23
And
He
hath
given
rain
for
thy
seed,
With
which
thou
dost
sow
the
ground,
And
bread,
the
increase
of
the
ground,
And
it
hath
been
fat
and
plenteous,
Enjoy
do
thy

in
that
day
an

24
And
the

serving

do

And
therefore
will
Jehovah

that

and
therefore
will

19
For
the

but
thine

thy

21
and
thine

shall

a
word
behind
thee,
saying,
This
is
the
way,
walk
ye
in
it;
when
ye
turn
to
the
right
hand,
and
when
ye
turn
to
the

22
And
ye
shall
defile
the
overlaying
of
thy
graven
images
of
silver,
and
the
plating
of
thy
molten
images
of
gold:
thou
shalt
cast
them
away
as
an
unclean
thing;
thou
shalt
say
unto
it,
Get

hence.
23
And
he
will
give
the
rain
for
thy
seed,
wherewith
thou
shalt
sow
the
ground;
and
bread
of
the
increase
of
the
ground,
and
it
shall
be
fat
and
plenteous.
In
that
day
shall
thy
cattle
feed
in
large
pastures;
24
the
oxen
likewise
and
the
young
asses
that
till
the
ground
shall
eat
savory
provender,
which
hath
been
winnowed
with
the
shovel
and
with
the
fork.
25
And
there
shall
be
upon
every
lofty
mountain,
and
upon
every
high
hill,
brooks
and
streams
of
waters,
in
the
day
of
the
great
slaughter,
when
the
towers
fall.
26
Moreover
the
light
of
the
moon
shall

the
light

the
sun,
and
the
light
of
the

shall

sevenfold,
as
the

of
seven

in
the
day
that
Jehovah
bindeth
up
the
hurt
of
his
people,
and
healeth
the
stroke
of
their
wound.
27
Behold,
the
name
of
Jehovah
cometh
from
far,
burning
with
his
anger,
and
in
thick
rising
smoke:
his
lips
are
full
of
indignation,
and
his
tongue
is
as
a
devouring
fire;
28
and
his
breath
is
as
an
overflowing
stream,
that
reacheth
even
unto
the
neck,
to
sift
the
nations
with
the
sieve
of
destruction:
and
a
bridle
that
causeth
to
err
shall
be
in
the
jaws
of
the
peoples.
29
Ye
shall
have
a
song
as
in
the
night
when
a
holy
feast
is
kept;
and
gladness
of
heart,
as
when
one
goeth
with
a
pipe
to
come
unto
the
mountain
of
Jehovah,
to
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
And
Jehovah
will
cause
his
glorious
voice
to
be
heard,
and
will
show
the
lighting
down
of
his
arm,
with
the
indignation
of
his
anger,
and
the
flame
of
a
devouring
fire,
with
a
blast,
and
tempest,
and
hailstones.
31
For
through
the
voice
of
Jehovah
shall
the
Assyrian
be
dismayed;
with
his
rod
will
he
smite
him.
32
And
every
stroke
of
the
appointed
staff,
which
Jehovah
shall
lay
upon
him,
shall
be
with
the
sound
of
tabrets
and
harps;
and
in
battles
with
the
brandishing
of
his
arm
will
he
fight
with
them.
33
For
a
Topheth
is
prepared
of
old;
yea,
for
the
king
it
is
made
ready;
he
hath
made
it
deep
and
large;
the
pile
thereof
is
fire
and
much
wood;
the
breath
of
Jehovah,
like
a
stream
of
brimstone,
doth
kindle
it.
Ezekiel 13:11

there
shall

an
overflowing
shower;
and
ye,
O
great
hailstones,
shall
fall;
and
a
stormy
wind
shall
rend
it.

thy

that
thou
shalt
sow
the

withal;
and
bread
of
the
increase
of
the

and
it
shall
be
fat
and
plenteous:
in
that
day
shall
thy
cattle
feed
in
large
pastures.
24
the
oxen
likewise

that
till
the

shall
eat
savoury
provender,
which
hath
been
winnowed
with
the

with
the

25
And
there
shall
be
upon
every
lofty
mountain,
and
upon
every
high

rivers
{cf15i
and}
streams
of
waters,
in
the
day
of
the
great
slaughter,
when
the
towers
fall.
26
Moreover
the
light
of
the
moon
shall
be
as
the
light
of
the
sun,
and
the
light
of
the
sun
shall
be
sevenfold,
as
the
light
of
seven
days,
in
the
day
that
the
LORD
bindeth
up
the
hurt
of
his
people,
and
healeth
the
stroke
of
their
wound.
27
Behold,
the
name
of
the
LORD
cometh
from
far,
burning
with
his
anger,
and
in
thick
rising
smoke:
his
lips
are
full
of
indignation,
and
his
tongue
is
as
a
devouring
fire:
28
and
his
breath
is
as
an
overflowing
stream,
that
reacheth
even
unto
the
neck,
to
sift
the
nations
with
the
sieve
of
vanity:
and
a
bridle
that
causeth
to
err
{cf15i
shall
be}
in
the
jaws
of
the
peoples.
29
Ye
shall
have
a
song
as
in
the
night
when
a
holy
feast
is
kept;
and
gladness
of
heart,
as
when
one
goeth
with
a
pipe
to
come
into
the
mountain
of
the
LORD,
to
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
And
the
LORD
shall
cause
his
glorious
voice
to
be
heard,
and
shall
shew
the
lighting
down
of
his
arm,
with
the
indignation
of
{cf15i
his}
anger,
and
the
flame
of
a
devouring
fire,
with
a
blast,
and
tempest,
and
hailstones.
31
For
through
the
voice
of
the
LORD
shall
the
Assyrian
be
broken
in
pieces,
which
smote
with
a
rod.
32
And
every
stroke
of
the
appointed
staff,
which
the
LORD
shall
lay
upon
him,
shall
be
with
tabrets
and
harps:
and
in
battles
of
shaking
will
he
fight
with
them.
33
For
a
Topheth
is
prepared
of
old;
yea,
for
the
king
it
is
made
ready;
he
hath
made
it
deep
and
large:
the
pile
thereof
is
fire
and
much
wood;
the
breath
of
the
LORD,
like
a
stream
of
brimstone,
doth
kindle
it.
Ezekiel 13:11

unto
them
which

untempered
{cf15i

that
it
shall
fall:
there
shall
be
an
overflowing
shower;
and
ye,
O
great
hailstones,
shall
fall;
and
a
stormy
wind
shall
rend
it.

1
Woe
to
the
rebellious
children,
said
the
LORD,
that
take
counsel,
but
not
of
me;
and
that
cover
with
a
covering,
but
not
of
my
spirit,
that
they
may
add
sin
to
sin:
2
That
walk
to
go
down
into
Egypt,
and
have
not
asked
at
my
mouth;
to
strengthen
themselves
in
the
strength
of
Pharaoh,
and
to
trust
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt!
3
Therefore
shall
the
strength
of
Pharaoh
be
your
shame,
and
the
trust
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt
your
confusion.
4
For
his
princes
were
at
Zoan,
and
his
ambassadors
came
to
Hanes.
5
They
were
all
ashamed
of
a
people
that
could
not
profit
them,
nor
be
an
help
nor
profit,
but
a
shame,
and
also
a
reproach.
6
The
burden
of
the
beasts
of
the
south:
into
the
land
of
trouble
and
anguish,
from
where
come
the
young
and
old
lion,
the
viper
and
fiery
flying
serpent,
they
will
carry
their
riches
on
the
shoulders
of
young
asses,
and
their
treasures
on
the
bunches
of
camels,
to
a
people
that
shall
not
profit
them.
7
For
the
Egyptians
shall
help
in
vain,
and
to
no
purpose:
therefore
have
I
cried
concerning
this,
Their
strength
is
to
sit
still.
8
Now
go,
write
it
before
them
in
a
table,
and
note
it
in
a
book,
that
it
may
be
for
the
time
to
come
for
ever
and
ever:
9
That
this
is
a
rebellious
people,
lying
children,
children
that
will
not
hear
the
law
of
the
LORD:
10
Which
say
to
the
seers,
See
not;
and
to
the
prophets,
Prophesy
not
to
us
right
things,
speak
to
us
smooth
things,
prophesy
deceits:
11
Get
you
out
of
the
way,
turn
aside
out
of
the
path,
cause
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
to
cease
from
before
us.
12
Why
thus
said
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
Because
you
despise
this
word,
and
trust
in
oppression
and
perverseness,
and
stay
thereon:
13
Therefore
this
iniquity
shall
be
to
you
as
a
breach
ready
to
fall,
swelling
out
in
a
high
wall,
whose
breaking
comes
suddenly
at
an
instant.
14
And
he
shall
break
it
as
the
breaking
of
the
potters'
vessel
that
is
broken
in
pieces;
he
shall
not
spare:
so
that
there
shall
not
be
found
in
the
bursting
of
it
a
shard
to
take
fire
from
the
hearth,
or
to
take
water
with
out
of
the
pit.
15
For
thus
said
the
Lord
GOD,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel;
In
returning
and
rest
shall
you
be
saved;
in
quietness
and
in
confidence
shall
be
your
strength:
and
you
would
not.
16
But
you
said,
No;
for
we
will
flee
on
horses;
therefore
shall
you
flee:
and,
We
will
ride
on
the
swift;
therefore
shall
they
that
pursue
you
be
swift.
17
One
thousand
shall
flee
at
the
rebuke
of
one;
at
the
rebuke
of
five
shall
you
flee:
till
you
be
left
as
a
beacon
on
the
top
of
a
mountain,
and
as
an
ensign
on
an
hill.
18
And
therefore
will
the
LORD
wait,
that
he
may
be
gracious
to
you,
and
therefore
will
he
be
exalted,
that
he
may
have
mercy
on
you:
for
the
LORD
is
a
God
of
judgment:
blessed
are
all
they
that
wait
for
him.
19
For
the
people
shall
dwell
in
Zion
at
Jerusalem:
you
shall
weep
no
more:
he
will
be
very
gracious
to
you
at
the
voice
of
your
cry;
when
he
shall
hear
it,
he
will
answer
you.
20
And
though
the
Lord
give
you
the
bread
of
adversity,
and
the
water
of
affliction,
yet
shall
not
your
teachers
be
removed
into
a
corner
any
more,
but
your
eyes
shall
see
your
teachers:
21
And
your
ears
shall
hear
a
word
behind
you,
saying,
This
is
the
way,
walk
you
in
it,
when
you
turn
to
the
right
hand,
and
when
you
turn
to
the
left.
22
You
shall
defile
also
the
covering
of
your
graven
images
of
silver,
and
the
ornament
of
your
molten
images
of
gold:
you
shall
cast
them
away
as
a
menstruous
cloth;
you
shall
say
to
it,
Get
you
hence.
23
Then
shall
he
give
the
rain
of
your
seed,
that
you
shall
sow
the
ground
with;
and
bread
of
the
increase
of
the
earth,
and
it
shall
be
fat
and
plenteous:
in
that
day
shall
your

feed
in

of

there
shall

a

in
the

of
the

causing

29
You
shall

"The
rebellious
children
are
as
good
as
dead,"
says
the
LORD,
"those
who
make
plans
without
consulting
me,
who
form
alliances
without
consulting
my
Spirit,
and
thereby
compound
their
sin.
2
They
travel
down
to
Egypt
without
seeking
my
will,
seeking
Pharaoh's
protection,
and
looking
for
safety
in
Egypt's
protective
shade.
3
But
Pharaoh's
protection
will
bring
you
nothing
but
shame,
and
the
safety
of
Egypt's
protective
shade
nothing
but
humiliation.
4
Though
his
officials
are
in
Zoan
and
his
messengers
arrive
at
Hanes,
5
all
will
be
put
to
shame
because
of
a
nation
that
cannot
help
them,
who
cannot
give
them
aid
or
help,
but
only
shame
and
disgrace."
6
This
is
a
message
about
the
animals
in
the
Negev:
Through
a
land
of
distress
and
danger,
inhabited
by
lionesses
and
roaring
lions,
by
snakes
and
darting
adders,
they
transport
their
wealth
on
the
backs
of
donkeys,
their
riches
on
the
humps
of
camels,
to
a
nation
that
cannot
help
them.
7
Egypt
is
totally
incapable
of
helping.
For
this
reason
I
call
her
'Proud
one
who
is
silenced.'"
8
Now
go,
write
it
down
on
a
tablet
in
their
presence,
inscribe
it
on
a
scroll,
so
that
it
might
be
preserved
for
a
future
time
as
an
enduring
witness.
9
For
these
are
rebellious
people—
they
are
lying
children,
children
unwilling
to
obey
the
LORD's
law.
10
They
say
to
the
visionaries,
"See
no
more
visions!"
and
to
the
seers,
"Don't
relate
messages
to
us
about
what
is
right!
Tell
us
nice
things,
relate
deceptive
messages.
11
Turn
aside
from
the
way,
stray
off
the
path.
Remove
from
our
presence
the
Holy
One
of
Israel."
12
For
this
reason
this
is
what
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
says:
"You
have
rejected
this
message;
you
trust
instead
in
your
ability
to
oppress
and
trick,
and
rely
on
that
kind
of
behavior.
13
So
this
sin
will
become
your
downfall.
You
will
be
like
a
high
wall
that
bulges
and
cracks
and
is
ready
to
collapse;
it
crumbles
suddenly,
in
a
flash.
14
It
shatters
in
pieces
like
a
clay
jar,
so
shattered
to
bits
that
none
of
it
can
be
salvaged.
Among
its
fragments
one
cannot
find
a
shard
large
enough
to
scoop
a
hot
coal
from
a
fire
or
to
skim
off
water
from
a
cistern."
15
For
this
is
what
the
master,
the
LORD,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
says:
"If
you
repented
and
patiently
waited
for
me,
you
would
be
delivered;
if
you
calmly
trusted
in
me
you
would
find
strength,
but
you
are
unwilling.
16
You
say,
'No,
we
will
flee
on
horses,'
so
you
will
indeed
flee.
You
say,
'We
will
ride
on
fast
horses,'
so
your
pursuers
will
be
fast.
17
One
thousand
will
scurry
at
the
battle
cry
of
one
enemy
soldier;
at
the
battle
cry
of
five
enemy
soldiers
you
will
all
run
away,
until
the
remaining
few
are
as
isolated
as
a
flagpole
on
a
mountaintop
or
a
signal
flag
on
a
hill."
18
For
this
reason
the
LORD
is
ready
to
show
you
mercy;
he
sits
on
his
throne,
ready
to
have
compassion
on
you.
Indeed,
the
LORD
is
a
just
God;
all
who
wait
for
him
in
faith
will
be
blessed.
19
For
people
will
live
in
Zion;
in
Jerusalem
you
will
weep
no
more.
When
he
hears
your
cry
of
despair,
he
will
indeed
show
you
mercy;
when
he
hears
it,
he
will
respond
to
you.
20
The
sovereign
master
will
give
you
distress
to
eat
and
suffering
to
drink;
but
your
teachers
will
no
longer
be
hidden;
your
eyes
will
see
them.
21
You
will
hear
a
word
spoken
behind
you,
saying,
"This
is
the
correct
way,
walk
in
it,"
whether
you
are
heading
to
the
right
or
the
left.
22
You
will
desecrate
your
silver-plated
idols
and
your
gold-plated
images.
You
will
throw
them
away
as
if
they
were
a
menstrual
rag,
saying
to
them,
"Get
out!"
23
He
will
water
the
seed
you
plant
in
the
ground,
and
the
ground
will
produce
crops
in
abundance.
At
that
time
your
cattle
will
graze
in
wide
pastures.
24
The
oxen
and
donkeys
used
in
plowing
will
eat
seasoned
feed
winnowed
with
a
shovel
and
pitchfork.
25
On
every
high
mountain
and
every
high
hill
there
will
be
streams
flowing
with
water,
at
the
time
of
great
slaughter
when
the
fortified
towers
collapse.
26
The
light
of
the
full
moon
will
be
like
the
sun's
glare
and
the
sun's
glare
will
be
seven
times
brighter,
like
the
light
of
seven
days,
when
the
LORD
binds
up
his
people's
fractured
bones
and
heals
their
severe
wound.
27
Look,
the
name
of
the
LORD
comes
from
a
distant
place
in
raging
anger
and
awesome
splendor.
He
speaks
angrily
and
his
word
is
like
destructive
fire.
28
His
battle
cry
overwhelms
like
a
flooding
river
that
reaches
one's
neck.
He
shakes
the
nations
in
a
sieve
that
isolates
the
chaff;
he
puts
a
bit
into
the
mouth
of
the
nations
and
leads
them
to
destruction.
29
You
will
sing
as
you
do
in
the
evening
when
you
are
celebrating
a
festival.
You
will
be

The

a
mighty

and

power,
with
furious
anger
and
flaming,
destructive
fire,
with

31
Indeed,
the
LORD's
shout
will
shatter
Assyria;
he
will
beat
them
with
a
club.
32
Every

his

with
which
the

1
The
Lord
said,
"Look
at
these
children.
They
don't
obey
me.
They
make
plans,
but
they
don't
ask
me
to
help
them.
They
make
agreements
with
other
nations,
but
my
Spirit
does
not
want
those
agreements.
These
people
are
adding
more
and
more
sins
to
the
ones
they
have
already
done.
2
They
are
going
down
to
Egypt
for
help,
but
they
did
not
ask
me
if
that
was
the
right
thing
to
do.
They
hope
they
will
be
saved
by
the
Pharaoh.
They
want
Egypt
to
protect
them.
3
"But
I
tell
you,
hiding
in
Egypt
will
not
help
you.
Pharaoh
will
not
be
able
to
protect
you.
4
Your
leaders
have
gone
to
Zoan,
and
your
representatives
have
gone
to
Hanes.
5
But
they
will
be
disappointed.
They
are
depending
on
a
nation
that
cannot
help
them.
Egypt
is
useless—it
will
not
help.
Egypt
will
bring
nothing
but
shame
and
embarrassment."
6
This
is
a
message
about
the
Negev
animals:
There
is
a
dangerous
place
full
of
lions,
adders,
deadly
snakes,
and
useless
people.
And
there
are
people
who
load
their
wealth
onto
donkeys
and
their
treasures
on
the
backs
of
camels.
They
carry
them
to
a
people
who
cannot
help.
7
That
useless
nation
is
Egypt.
Egypt's
help
is
worth
nothing,
so
I
call
Egypt
the
"Do-Nothing
Dragon."
8
Now
write
this
on
a
sign
so
that
all
people
can
see
it,
and
write
this
in
a
book.
Write
these
things
for
the
last
days.
This
will
be
far,
far
in
the
future:
9
These
people
are
like
children
who
refuse
to
obey.
They
lie
and
refuse
to
listen
to
the
Lord's
teachings.
10
They
tell
the
prophets,
"Don't
see
dreams
about
things
we
should
do.
Don't
tell
us
the
truth.
Say
nice
things
to
us
and
make
us
feel
good.
See
only
good
things
for
us.
11
Stop
seeing
things
that
will
really
happen.
Get
out
of
our
way.
Stop
telling
us
about
the
Holy
One
of
Israel.
"
12
The
Holy
One
of
Israel
says,
"You
people
have
refused
to
accept
this
message
from
the
Lord.
You
want
to
depend
on
fighting
and
lies
to
help
you.
13
You
are
guilty
of
these
things.
So
you
are
like
a
tall
wall
with
cracks
in
it.
That
wall
will
fall
and
break
into
small
pieces.
14
You
will
be
like
a
large
clay
jar
that
breaks
into
many
small,
useless
pieces.
You
cannot
use
them
to
get
a
hot
coal
from
the
fire
or
to
get
water
from
a
pool
in
the
ground."
15
The
Lord
God,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
says,
"If
you
come
back
to
me
you
will
be
saved.
Only
by
remaining
calm
and
trusting
in
me
can
you
be
strong."
But
you
don't
want
to
do
that.
16
You
say,
"No,
we
need
fast
horses
for
battle."
That
is
true—you
will
need
fast
horses,
but
only
to
run
away
because
your
enemy
will
be
faster
than
your
horses.
17
One
enemy
soldier
will
make
threats,
and
a
thousand
of
your
men
will
run
away.
And
when
five
of
them
make
threats,
all
of
you
will
run
away.
The
only
thing
that
will
be
left
of
your
army
will
be
a
flagpole
on
a
hill.
18
So
the
Lord
is
waiting
to
show
his
mercy
to
you.
He
wants
to
rise
and
comfort
you.
The
Lord
is
the
God
who
does
the
right
thing,
so
he
will
bless
everyone
who
waits
for
his
help.
19
The
Lord's
people
will
live
in
Jerusalem
on
Mount
Zion.
You
people
will
not
continue
crying.
The
Lord
will
hear
your
crying,
and
he
will
comfort
you.
When
he
hears
you,
he
will
help
you.
20
The
Lord
might
give
you
sorrow
and
pain
like
the
bread
and
water
you
eat
every
day.
But
God
is
your
teacher,
and
he
will
not
continue
to
hide
from
you.
You
will
see
your
teacher
with
your
own
eyes.
21
If
you
wander
from
the
right
path,
either
to
the
right
or
to
the
left,
you
will
hear
a
voice
behind
you
saying,
"You
should
go
this
way.
This
is
the
right
way."
22
Then
you
will
take
your
idols
covered
with
gold
and
silver
and
make
them
unfit
to
be
used
again.
You
will
throw
them
away
like
filthy
rags
and
say,
"Go
away!"
23
At
that
time
the
Lord
will
send
you
rain.
You
will
plant
seeds,
and
the
ground
will
grow
food
for
you.
You
will
have
a
very
large
harvest.
You
will
have
plenty
of
food
in
the
fields
for
your
animals.
There
will
be
large
fields
for
your
sheep.
24
Your
cattle
and
donkeys
will
have
all
the
food
they
need.
There
will
be
much
food.
You
will
have
to
use
shovels
and
pitchforks
to
spread
all
the
food
for
your
animals
to
eat.
25
Every
mountain
and
hill
will
have
streams
filled
with
water.
These
things
will
happen
after
many
people
are
killed
and
the
enemy's
towers
are
pulled
down.
26
At
that
time
the
light
from
the
moon
will
be
as
bright
as
the
sun,
and
the
light
from
the
sun
will
be
seven
times
brighter
than
it
is
now.
One
day
of
sunlight
will
be
like
a
whole
week's
worth.
This
will
happen
when
the
Lord
bandages
his
broken
people
and
heals
the
hurts
from
their
beatings.
27
Look!
The
Lord
is
coming
from
far
away.
His
anger
is
like
a
fire
with
thick
clouds
of
smoke.
His
mouth
is
filled
with
anger,
and
his
tongue
is
like
a
burning
fire.
28
His
breath
is
like
a
great
river
that
rises
until
it
reaches
the
throat.
He
will
judge
the
nations
as
if
putting
them
through
a
strainer
that
separates
the
ones
fit
for
destruction.
He
will
put
a
bit
in
their
mouths
to
lead
them
to
the
place
they
don't
want
to
go.
29
You
will
sing
happy
songs,
like
the
nights
when
you
begin
a
festival.
You
will
be
very
happy
walking
to
the
Lord's
mountain
and
listening
to
the
flute
on
the
way
to
worship
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
The
Lord
will
cause
all
people
to
hear
his
great
voice
and
to
see
his
powerful
arm
come
down
in
anger.
That
arm
will
be
like
a
great
fire
that
burns
everything.
His
power
will
be
like
a
great
storm
with
much
rain
and
hail.
31
Assyria
will
be
frightened
by
the
Lord's
voice
and
the
stick
that
will
beat
him.
32
And
as
the
Lord
beats
Assyria,
his
people
will
keep
the
rhythm
with
their
drums
and
harps.
33
Topheth
has
been
made
ready
for
a
long
time.
It
is
ready
for
the
king.
It
was
made
very
deep
and
wide.
There
is
a
very
big
pile
of
wood
and
fire
there,
and
the
Lord's
breath
will
come
like
a
stream
of
burning
sulfur
to
start
the
fire.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
Tell
them
that
I
will
send
hail
and
a
strong
rain.
The
wind
will
blow
hard,
and
a
tornado
will
come.
Then
the
wall
will
fall
down.

Woe
to
the

For
there

In

shall

THE
VISION

THE
QUADRUPEDS
IN
THE
DESERT.
In
affliction
and
distress,
where
are
the
lion
and
lion’s
whelp,
thence
come
also
asps,
and
the
young
of

asps,
there

7
The
Egyptians
shall
help
you
utterly
in
vain:
tell
them,
This
your

is
vain.
8
Now
then
sit
down
and
write
these
words

and
in
a

for
these
things
shall
be
Gr.
for

in

9
For
the
people
is
disobedient,
false
children,
who
would
not
hear
the
law
of
God:
10
who
say
to
the
prophets,
Report
not
to
us;
and
to
them
that

Speak
them
not
to
us,

to
us
another

and
turn
us
aside
from
this
way;
remove
from
us
this
path,
and
remove
from
us
the
oracle
of
Israel.
12
Therefore
thus
saith
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
Because
ye
have
refused
to
obey
these
words,
and
have
trusted
in
falsehood;
and
because
thou
hast
murmured,
and
been
confident
in
this
respect:
13
therefore
shall
this
sin
be
to
you
as
a
wall
suddenly
falling
when
a
strong
city
has
been
taken,
of
which
the
fall
is
very
near
at
hand.
14
And
the
fall
thereof
shall
be
as
the
breaking
of
an
earthen
vessel,
as
small
fragments
of
a
pitcher,
so
that
thou
shouldest
not
find
among
them
a
sherd,
with
which
thou
mightest
take
up
fire,
and
with
which
thou
shouldest
draw
a
little
water.
15
Thus
saith
the
Lord,
the
Holy
Lord
of
Israel;
When
thou
shalt
turn
and
mourn,
then
thou
shalt
be
saved;
and
thou
shalt
know
where
thou
wast,
when
thou
didst
trust
in
vanities:
then
your
strength
became
vain,
yet
ye
would
not
hearken:
16
but
ye
said,
We
will
flee
upon
horses;
therefore
shall
ye
flee:
and,
We
will
be
aided
by
swift
riders;
therefore
shall
they
that
pursue
you
be
swift.
17
A
thousand
shall
flee
because
of
the
voice
of
one,
and
many
shall
flee
on
account
of
the
voice
of
five;
until
ye
be
left
as
a
signal-post
upon
a
mountain,
and
as
one
bearing
an
ensign
upon
a

18
And
the
Lord
will
again
wait,
that
he
may
pity
you,
and
will
therefore
be
exalted
that
he
may
have
mercy
upon
you:
because
the
Lord
your
God
is
a
judge:
blessed
are
they
that
Or,
wait
for
stay
themselves
upon
him.
19
For
the
holy
people
shall
dwell
in
Sion:
and
whereas
Jerusalem
has
Gr.
with
weeping
wept
bitterly,
saying,
Pity
me;
he
shall
pity
thee:
when
he
perceived
the
voice
of
thy
cry,
he
hearkened
to
thee.
20
And
though
the
Lord
shall
give
you
the
bread
of
affliction
and
scant
water,
yet
they
that
cause
thee
to
err
shall
no
more
at
all
draw
nigh
to
thee;
for
thine
eyes
shall
see
those
that
cause
thee
to
err,
21
and
thine
ears
shall
hear
the
words
of
them
that
went
after
thee
to
lead
thee
astray,
who
say,
This
is
the
way,
let
us
walk
in
it,
whether
to
the
right
or
to
the
left.
22
And
thou
shalt
pollute
the
plated
idols,
and
thou
shalt
grind
to
powder
the
gilt
ones,
and
shalt
scatter
them
as
the
water
of
a
removed
woman,
and
thou
shalt
thrust
them
forth
as
dung.
23
Then
shall
there
be
rain
to
the
seed
of
thy
land;
and
the
bread
of
the
fruit
of
thy
land
shall
be
plenteous
and
rich:
and
thy
cattle
shall
feed
in
that
day
in
a
fertile
and
spacious
place.
24
Your
bulls
and
your
oxen
that
till
the
ground,
shall
eat
chaff
mixed
with
winnowed
barley.
25
And
there
shall
be
upon
every
lofty
mountain
and
upon
every
high
hill,
water
running
in
that
day,
when
many
shall
perish,
and
when
the
towers
shall
fall.
26
And
the
light
of
the
moon
shall
be
as
the
light
of
the
sun,
and
the
light
of
the
sun
shall
be
sevenfold
in
the
day
when
the
Lord
shall
heal
the
breach
of
his
people,
and
shall
heal
the
pain
of
thy
wound.
27
Behold,
the
name
of
the
Lord
comes
after
a
long
time,
burning
wrath:
the
word
of
his
lips
is
with
glory,
a
word
full
of
anger,
and
the
anger
of
his
wrath
shall
devour
as
fire.
28
And
his
breath,
as
rushing
water
in
a
valley,
shall
reach
as
far
as
the
neck,
and
be
divided,
to
confound
the
nations
for
their
vain
error:
error
also
shall
pursue
them,
and
Gr.
take
them
to
their
face
overtake
them.
29
Must
ye
always
rejoice,
and
go
into
my
holy
places
continually,
as
they
that
keep
a
feast?
and
must
ye
go
with
a
pipe,
as
those
that
rejoice,
into
the
mountain
of
the
Lord,
to
the
God
of
Israel?
30
And
the
Lord
shall
make
his
glorious
voice
to
be
heard,
and
the
wrath
of
his
arm,
to
make
a
display
with
wrath
and
anger
and
devouring
flame:
he
shall
lighten
terribly,
and
his
wrath
shall
be
as
water
and
violent
hail.
31
For
by
the
voice
of
the
Lord
the
Assyrians
shall
be
overcome,
even
by
the
stroke
wherewith
he
shall
smite
them.
32
And
it
shall
happen
to
him
from
every
side,
that
they
from
whom
their
hope
of
assistance
was,
in
which
he
trusted,
themselves
shall
war
against
him
in
turn
with
drums
and
with
harp.
33
For
thou
shalt
be
required
before
thy
time:
has
it
been
prepared
for
thee
also
to
reign?
nay,
God
has
prepared
for
thee
a
deep
trench,
wood
piled,
fire
and
much
wood:
the
wrath
of
the
Lord
shall
be
as
a
trench
kindled
with
sulphur.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
Say
to
them
that
plaster
it,
It
shall
fall;
and
there
shall
be
a
flooding
rain;
and
I
will
send
great
stones
upon
their
joinings,
and
they
shall
fall;
and
there
shall
be
a
sweeping
wind,
and
it
shall
be
broken.

"It
is
bad
for
the
children
who
will
not
obey!"
says
the
Lord,
"They
act
on
a
plan
that
is
not
Mine,
and
make
an
agreement
that
is
not
of
My
Spirit,
and
so
add
sin
to
sin.
2
They
go
down
to
Egypt
without
asking
Me.
They
want
Pharaoh
to
keep
them
safe
and
they
look
for
a
safe
place
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt.
3
So
the
safe
place
of
Pharaoh
will
be
your
shame.
You
will
be
brought
low
in
the
safe
place
in
the
shadow
of
Egypt.
4
For
their
rulers
are
at
Zoan,
and
leaders
come
to
Hanes.
5
Everyone
will
be
ashamed
because
of
a
people
who
cannot
be
of
help
to
them.
They
do
not
bring
help
or
riches,
but
only
shame."
6
The
special
word
about
the
wild
animals
of
the
Negev:
They
go
through
a
land
of
trouble
and
suffering,
where
there
are
male
and
female
lions,
deadly
snakes
and
flying
snakes.
They
carry
their
riches
on
the
backs
of
young
donkeys
and
camels,
to
a
people
who
cannot
be
of
help
to
them.
7
Egypt's
help
is
of
no
worth
and
is
empty.
So
I
have
called
her
Rahab
who
has
done
nothing.
8
Now
go
and
write
it
down
in
front
of
them.
And
write
it
in
a
book,
that
it
may
be
seen
for
all
time
to
come.
9
For
these
people
will
not
obey.
They
are
not
true
sons.
They
will
not
listen
to
the
teaching
of
the
Lord.
10
They
say
to
the
men
who
tell
what
will
happen
in
the
future,
"Do
not
see
special
dreams."
They
say
to
those
who
speak
for
God,
"You
must
not
tell
to
us
what
is
right.
Speak
pleasing
things
to
us,
tell
us
what
we
like
to
hear.
11
Get
out
of
the
way.
Turn
aside
from
the
path.
We
do
not
want
to
hear
any
more
about
the
Holy
One
of
Israel."
12
So
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
says,
"Because
you
have
turned
away
from
this
Word,
and
have
put
your
trust
in
a
power
that
makes
it
hard
for
others
and
fools
them,
13
this
sin
will
be
to
you
like
a
high
wall,
ready
to
break
and
fall
apart.
It
will
fall
all
at
once.
14
Its
fall
is
like
the
breaking
of
a
pot-maker's
jar.
It
is
broken
in
so
many
pieces
that
a
piece
will
not
be
found
big
enough
to
pick
up
hot
coals
from
the
fire
or
to
get
water
from
the
well."
15
The
Lord
God,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
has
said,
"In
turning
away
from
sin
and
in
rest,
you
will
be
saved.
Your
strength
will
come
by
being
quiet
and
by
trusting."
But
you
would
not.
16
You
said,
"No,
we
will
go
away
fast
on
horses."
So
you
will
go
away
in
a
hurry!
You
say,
"We
will
go
on
fast
horses."
So
those
who
come
to
take
you
will
be
fast.
17
One
thousand
will
run
away
as
one
man
stands
up
against
them.
You
will
all
run
away
when
five
stand
up
against
them,
until
you
are
like
flags
lifted
up
on
a
mountain
top,
like
something
special
to
see
on
a
hill.
18
So
the
Lord
wants
to
show
you
kindness.
He
waits
on
high
to
have
loving-pity
on
you.
For
the
Lord
is
a
God
of
what
is
right
and
fair.
And
good
will
come
to
all
those
who
hope
in
Him.
19
O
people
in
Zion
who
live
in
Jerusalem,
you
will
cry
no
more.
For
sure
He
will
show
loving-kindness
to
you
at
the
sound
of
your
cry.
When
He
hears
it,
He
will
answer
you.
20
The
Lord
has
given
you
the
bread
of
trouble
and
water
of
suffering.
But
He,
your
Teacher,
will
not
hide
Himself
any
more.
Your
eyes
will
see
your
Teacher.
21
Your
ears
will
hear
a
word
behind
you,
saying,
"This
is
the
way,
walk
in
it,"
whenever
you
turn
to
the
right
or
to
the
left.
22
You
will
take
your
sinful
objects
of
worship,
covered
with
silver
and
gold
and
will
throw
them
away
as
an
unclean
cloth,
and
say
to
them,
"Be
gone!"
23
Then
He
will
give
you
rain
for
the
seed
you
will
plant
in
the
ground.
And
He
will
give
you
bread
from
the
grain
from
the
ground.
It
will
be
good,
and
more
than
you
need.
In
that
day
your
cattle
will
eat
in
a
large
field.
24
The
oxen
and
the
donkeys
which
work
the
ground
will
eat
salted
grain,
which
has
been
spread
out
with
certain
tools.
25
On
every
high
mountain
and
on
every
high
hill
there
will
be
rivers
flowing
with
water
in
the
day
when
many
will
be
killed,
when
the
towers
fall.
26
The
light
of
the
moon
will
be
like
the
light
of
the
sun,
the
light
of
the
sun
will
be
seven
times
brighter,
like
the
light
of
seven
days,
on
the
day
the
Lord
takes
care
of
the
hurts
of
His
people
and
heals
the
sores
He
has
given
them.
27
See,
the
name
of
the
Lord
comes
from
a
far
away
place,
with
His
anger
burning,
and
with
dark
smoke
rising.
His
lips
are
full
of
anger
and
His
tongue
is
like
a
destroying
fire.
28
His
breath
is
like
a
river
flowing
over,
that
comes
up
to
the
neck.
It
shakes
the
nations
back
and
forth
putting
them
through
a
test
of
pride.
And
it
puts
a
piece
of
iron
in
the
mouths
of
the
people
to
lead
them
the
wrong
way.
29
You
will
have
a
song
as
in
the
night
when
you
have
a
special
holy
supper.
You
will
be
glad
in
your
heart
as
when
one
steps
to
the
sound
of
the
horn
going
to
the
mountain
of
the
Lord,
to
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
The
Lord
will
make
His
voice
of
great
power
heard.
And
He
will
let
His
arm
be
seen
coming
down
in
the
destroying
fire,
hard
rain,
storm,
and
hailstones.
31
The
Assyrians
will
be
filled
with
fear
at
the
voice
of
the
Lord,
when
He
punishes
them
with
His
power.
32
Every
beat
from
the
special
stick
of
punishment
which
the
Lord
will
give
them
will
be
to
the
sound
of
timbrels
and
of
harps.
He
will
fight
them
in
battle
with
a
strong
arm.
33
For
a
place
of
fire
has
long
been
ready.
Yes,
it
has
been
made
ready
for
the
king.
It
has
been
made
deep
and
wide,
with
fire
and
much
wood.
The
breath
of
the
Lord
starts
the
fire
and
it
is
like
a
river
of
sulphur.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
tell
those
who
cover
it
with
whitewash
that
it
will
fall!
A
flood
of
rain
will
come,
and
large
hailstones
will
fall.
And
a
strong
wind
will
break
out.

1
The
Lord
said,
"How
terrible
it
will
be
for
these
stubborn
children.
They
make
plans,
but
they
don't
ask
me
to
help
them.
They
make
agreements
with
other
nations,
without
asking
my
Spirit.
They
are
adding
more
and
more
sins
to
themselves.
2
They
go
down
to
Egypt
for
help
without
asking
me
about
it
first.
They
hope
they
will
be
saved
by
the
king
of
Egypt;
they
want
Egypt
to
protect
them.
3
But
hiding
in
Egypt
will
bring
you
only
shame;
Egypt's
protection
will
only
disappoint
you.
4
Your
officers
have
gone
to
Zoan,
and
your
messengers
have
gone
to
Hanes,
5
but
they
will
be
put
to
shame,
because
Egypt
is
useless
to
them.
It
will
give
no
help
and
will
be
of
no
use;
it
will
cause
them
only
shame
and
embarrassment."
6
This
is
a
message
about
the
animals
in
southern
Judah:
full
of
lions
and
lionesses,
poisonous
snakes
and
darting
snakes.
The
messengers
travel
through
there
with
their
wealth
on
the
backs
of
donkeys
and
their
treasure
on
the
backs
of
camels.
They
carry
them
to
a
nation
that
cannot
help
them,
7
to
Egypt
whose
help
is
useless.
So
I
call
that
country
Rahab
the
Do-Nothing.
8
Now
write
this
on
a
sign
for
the
people,
write
this
on
a
scroll,
so
that
for
the
days
to
come
this
will
be
a
witness
forever.
9
These
people
are
like
children
who
lie
and
refuse
to
obey;
they
refuse
to
listen
to
the
Lord's
teachings.
10
They
tell
the
seers,
"Don't
see
any
more
visions!"
They
say
to
the
prophets,
"Don't
tell
us
the
truth!
Say
things
that
will
make
us
feel
good;
see
only
good
things
for
us.
11
Stop
blocking
our
path.
Get
out
of
our
way.
Stop
telling
us
about
God,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel."
12
So
this
is
what
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
says:
"You
people
have
refused
to
accept
this
message
and
have
depended
on
cruelty
and
lies
to
help
you.
13
You
are
guilty
of
these
things.
So
you
will
be
like
a
high
wall
with
cracks
in
it
that
falls
suddenly
and
breaks
into
small
pieces.
14
You
will
be
like
a
clay
jar
that
breaks,
smashed
into
many
pieces.
Those
pieces
will
be
too
small
to
take
coals
from
the
fire
or
to
get
water
from
a
well."
15
This
is
what
the
Lord
God,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
says:
"If
you
come
back
to
me
and
trust
me,
you
will
be
saved.
If
you
will
be
calm
and
trust
me,
you
will
be
strong."
But
you
don't
want
to
do
that.
16
You
say,
"No,
we
need
horses
to
run
away
on."
So
you
will
run
away
on
horses.
You
say,
"We
will
ride
away
on
fast
horses."
So
those
who
chase
you
will
be
fast.
17
One
enemy
will
make
threats,
and
a
thousand
of
your
men
will
run
away.
Five
enemies
will
make
threats,
and
all
of
you
will
run
from
them.
You
will
be
left
alone
like
a
flagpole
on
a
hilltop,
like
a
banner
on
a
hill.
18
The
Lord
wants
to
show
his
mercy
to
you.
He
wants
to
rise
and
comfort
you.
The
Lord
is
a
fair
God,
and
everyone
who
waits
for
his
help
will
be
happy.
19
You
people
who
live
on
Mount
Zion
in
Jerusalem
will
not
cry
anymore.
The
Lord
will
hear
your
crying,
and
he
will
comfort
you.
When
he
hears
you,
he
will
help
you.
20
The
Lord
has
given
you
sorrow
and
hurt
like
the
bread
and
water
you
ate
every
day.
He
is
your
teacher;
he
will
not
continue
to
hide
from
you,
but
you
will
see
your
teacher
with
your
own
eyes.
21
If
you
go
the
wrong
way
--
to
the
right
or
to
the
left
--
you
will
hear
a
voice
behind
you
saying,
"This
is
the
right
way.
You
should
go
this
way."
22
You
have
statues
covered
with
silver
and
gold,
but
you
will
ruin
them
for
further
use.
You
will
throw
them
away
like
filthy
rags
and
say,
"Go
away!"
23
At
that
time
the
Lord
will
send
rain
for
the
seeds
you
plant
in
the
ground,
and
the
ground
will
grow
food
for
you.
The
harvest
will
be
rich
and
great,
and
you
will
have
plenty
of
food
in
the
fields
for
your
animals.
24
Your
oxen
and
donkeys
that
work
the
soil
will
have
all
the
food
they
need.
You
will
have
to
use
shovels
and
pitchforks
to
spread
all
their
food.
25
Every
mountain
and
hill
will
have
streams
filled
with
water.
These
things
will
happen
after
many
people
are
killed
and
the
towers
are
pulled
down.
26
At
that
time
the
light
from
the
moon
will
be
bright
like
the
sun,
and
the
light
from
the
sun
will
be
seven
times
brighter
than
now,
like
the
light
of
seven
days.
These
things
will
happen
when
the
Lord
bandages
his
broken
people
and
heals
the
hurts
he
gave
them.
27
Look!
The
Lord
comes
from
far
away.
His
anger
is
like
a
fire
with
thick
clouds
of
smoke.
His
mouth
is
filled
with
anger,
and
his
tongue
is
like
a
burning
fire.
28
His
breath
is
like
a
rushing
river,
which
rises
to
the
throat.
He
will
judge
the
nations
as
if
he
is
sifting
them
through
the
strainer
of
destruction.
He
will
place
in
their
mouths
a
bit
that
will
lead
them
the
wrong
way.
29
You
will
sing
happy
songs
as
on
the
nights
you
begin
a
festival.
You
will
be
happy
like
people
listening
to
flutes
as
they
come
to
the
mountain
of
the
Lord,
to
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
The
Lord
will
cause
all
people
to
hear
his
great
voice
and
to
see
his
powerful
arm
come
down
with
anger,
like
a
great
fire
that
burns
everything,
like
a
great
storm
with
much
rain
and
hail.
31
Assyria
will
be
afraid
when
it
hears
the
voice
of
the
Lord,
because
he
will
strike
Assyria
with
a
rod.
32
When
the
Lord
punishes
Assyria
with
a
rod,
he
will
beat
them
to
the
music
of
tambourines
and
harps;
he
will
fight
against
them
with
his
mighty
weapons.
33
Tophethn
has
been
made
ready
for
a
long
time;
it
is
ready
for
the
king.
It
was
made
deep
and
wide
with
much
wood
and
fire.
like
a
stream
of
burning
sulfur
and
set
it
on
fire.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
So
tell
those
who
cover
a
weak
wall
with
whitewash
that
it
will
fall
down.
Rain
will
pour
down,
hailstones
will
fall,
and
a
stormy
wind
will
break
the
wall
down.

them;
they
are
not
for
a
help,
and
not
for
profiting,
but
for
a
shame;
yea,
also
for
a
reproach.
6
The
burden
of
the
beasts
of
the
south:
Into
the
land
of
trouble
and
constraint.
The
lioness
and
the
lion
are
from
them;
the
viper
and
fiery
flying
serpent.
They
carry
their
riches
on
the
shoulders
of
young
asses,
and
their
treasures
on
the
humps
of
camels,
to
a
people
who
cannot
profit
them.
7
And
Egypt;
vainly
and
emptily
they
help.
So
I
have
called
to
this:
Their
strength
is
to
sit
still.
8
Now
come,
write
it
before
them
on
a
tablet,
and
note
it
on
a
book,
so
that
it
may
be
for
the
latter
day,
until
forever;
9
that
this
is
a
rebellious
people,
lying
sons;
sons
who
are
not
willing
to
hear
the
Law
of
Jehovah;
10
who
say
to
the
seers,
Do
not
see;
and
to
visioners,
Do
not
have
a
vision
for
right
things
to
us;
speak
smooth
things
to
us;
have
a
vision
of
trifles.
11
Turn
aside
from
the
way;
stretch
from
the
path;
cause
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
to
cease
from
before
us.
12
For
this
reason,
so
says
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
Because
of
your
rejection
of
this
Word,
and
your
trust
in
oppression
and
perversity,
even
resting
on
it;
13
So
this
iniquity
shall
be
to
you
as
a
broken
section
falling,
like
the
bulging
out
of
a
high
wall,
the
breaking
of
which
comes
suddenly,
in
an
instant.
14
And
its
smashing
is
as
the
smashing
of
a
potter's
vessel;
when
broken
in
pieces,
he
has
no
pity;
for
in
its
breaking
there
is
not
found
a
shard
to
carry
fire
from
the
hearth,
nor
to
skim
water
from
a
well.
15
For
so
says
the
Lord
Jehovah,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
In
returning
and
rest
you
shall
be
saved;
and
in
quietness
and
hope
shall
be
your
strength.
But
you
were
not
willing.
16
For
you
said,
No!
For
we
will
flee
on
horseback.
On
account
of
this
you
shall
flee.
Also,
you
say,
We
will
ride
on
swift
ones.
On
account
of
this,
those
who
pursue
you
shall
be
swift.
17
One
thousand
shall
flee
at
the
rebuke
of
one.
You
shall
flee
from
the
rebuke
of
five,
until
you
are
left
like
a
pole
on
the
top
of
the
mountain,
and
like
a
sign
on
a
hill.
18
And
so
Jehovah
waits
to
be
gracious
to
you.
And
for
this
He
is
exalted
to
have
mercy
on
you;
for
Jehovah
is
a
God
of
justice.
Blessed
are
all
who
wait
for
Him.
19
For
the
people
shall
live
in
Zion,
at
Jerusalem;
you
shall
surely
cry
no
more.
He
surely
will
be
gracious
to
you
at
the
sound
of
your
cry.
When
He
hears,
He
will
answer
you.
20
And
the
Lord
gives
you
the
bread
of
adversity,
and
the
water
of
affliction;
but
your
teachers
shall
not
be
hidden
any
more;
but
your
eyes
shall
be
able
to
see
your
teachers.
21
And
your
ears
shall
hear
a
word
behind
you,
saying,
This
is
the
way,
walk
in
it,
when
you
go
right,
or
when
you
go
left.
22
And
you
shall
defile
the
covering
of
your
carved
images
of
silver;
and
the
covering
of
your
molten
images
of
gold.
You
shall
strew
them
as
a
menstruous
cloth;
you
shall
say
to
it,
Go
out!
23
Then
He
shall
give
rain
for
your
seed,
with
which
you
sow
the
ground.
And
the
bread
of
the
produce
of
the
earth
also
shall
be
fat
and
plentiful.
In
that
day
your
livestock
shall
feed
in
a
pasture
made
wide.
24
Also,
the
oxen
and
the
young
asses
that
till
the
ground
shall
eat
seasoned
fodder
which
one
winnows
with
the
shovel
and
with
the
fork.
25
And
on
every
high
mountain,
and
on
every
high
hill,
shall
be
rivulets
lifted
up,
streams
of
water,
in
a
day
of
great
slaying,
when
towers
fall.
26
And
the
moonlight
shall
be
like
the
light
of
the
sun.
And
the
sun's
light
shall
be
sevenfold,
as
the
light
of
seven
days,
in
the
day
of
binding
up,
Jehovah
binding
the
break
of
His
people,
and
healing
the
wound
of
His
blow.
27
Behold,
the
name
of
Jehovah
comes
from
afar;
His
anger
burns;
and
is
heavy
as
the
uplifting
of
smoke;
His
lips
are
full
of
fury,
and
His
tongue
like
a
devouring
fire.
28
And
like
an
overflowing
torrent,
His
breath
shall
divide
to
the
neck,
to
sift
the
nations
with
the
sieve
of
vanity,
and
a
misleading
bridle
on
the
jaws
of
the
peoples.
29
The
song
shall
be
to
you,
as
the
night
when
the
feast
is
sanctified,
and
gladness
of
heart,
as
one
going
with
the
flute,
to
come
into
the
mount
of
Jehovah,
to
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
And
Jehovah
shall
make
the
majesty
of
His
voice
heard;
and
He
causes
His
arm
to
be
seen
coming
down
with
raging
anger
and
flame
of
consuming
fire,
cloudburst
and
storm,
and
hailstones.
31
For
through
the
voice
of
Jehovah,
Assyria
shall
be
crushed,
the
rod
with
which
He
strikes.
32
And
every
passage
of
the
appointed
staff
that
Jehovah
causes
to
rest
on
him
will
be
with
timbrels
and
with
harps.
And
in
brandishing
battles
He
fights
with
her.
33
For
Topheth
is
ordained
from
yesterday.
Also,
it
is
prepared
for
the
king;
He
deepened;
He
widened
its
pyre;
He
makes
great
with
fire
and
wood.
The
breath
of
Jehovah
burns
in
it
like
a
torrent
of
brimstone.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
Say
to
those
daubing
with
lime,
Yea,
it
will
fall.
There
will
be
a
flooding
rain;
and
you,
O
hailstones,
shall
fall,
and
a
tempestuous
wind
shall
break.

1
Woe
to
the
rebellious
children!
This
is
the
LORD's
declaration.
They
carry
out
a
plan,
but
not
Mine,
They
make
an
alliance,
but
against
My
will,
piling
sin
on
top
of
sin.
2
They
set
out
to
go
down
to
Egypt
without
asking
My
advice,
in
order
to
seek
shelter
under
Pharaoh's
protection
and
take
refuge
in
Egypt's
shadow.
3
But
Pharaoh's
protection
will
become
your
shame,
and
refuge
in
Egypt's
shadow
your
disgrace.
4
For
though
his
princes
are
at
Zoan
and
his
messengers
reach
as
far
as
Hanes,
5
everyone
will
be
ashamed
because
of
a
people
who
can't
help.
They
are
of
no
benefit,
they
are
no
help;
they
are
good
for
nothing
but
shame
and
reproach.
6
An
oracle
about
the
animals
of
the
Negev:
Through
a
land
of
trouble
and
distress,
of
lioness
and
lion,
of
viper
and
flying
serpent,
they
carry
their
wealth
on
the
backs
of
donkeys
and
their
treasures
on
the
humps
of
camels,
to
a
people
who
will
not
help
them.
7
Egypt's
help
is
completely
worthless;
therefore,
I
call
her:
Rahab
Who
Just
Sits.
8
Go
now,
write
it
on
a
tablet
in
their
presence
and
inscribe
it
on
a
scroll;
it
will
be
for
the
future,
forever
and
ever.
9
They
are
a
rebellious
people,
deceptive
children,
children
who
do
not
obey
the
LORD's
instruction.
10
They
say
to
the
seers,
"Do
not
see,"
and
to
the
prophets,
"Do
not
prophesy
the
truth
to
us.
Tell
us
flattering
things.
Prophesy
illusions.
11
Get
out
of
the
way!
Leave
the
pathway.
Rid
us
of
the
Holy
One
of
Israel."
12
Therefore
the
Holy
One
of
Israel
says:
"Because
you
have
rejected
this
message
and
have
trusted
in
oppression
and
deceit,
and
have
depended
on
them,
13
this
iniquity
of
yours
will
be
like
a
spreading
breach,
a
bulge
in
a
high
wall
whose
collapse
will
come
very
suddenly.
14
Its
collapse
will
be
like
the
shattering
of
a
potter's
jar,
crushed
to
pieces,
so
that
not
even
a
fragment
of
pottery
will
be
found
among
its
shattered
remains--
no
fragment
large
enough
to
take
fire
from
a
hearth
or
scoop
water
from
a
cistern."
15
For
the
Lord
God,
the
Holy
One
of
Israel,
has
said:
"You
will
be
delivered
by
returning
and
resting;
your
strength
will
lie
in
quiet
confidence.
But
you
are
not
willing."
16
You
say,
"No!
We
will
escape
on
horses"--
therefore
you
will
escape!--
and,
"We
will
ride
on
fast
horses"--
but
those
who
pursue
you
will
be
faster.
17
One
thousand
will
flee
at
the
threat
of
one,
at
the
threat
of
five
you
will
flee,
until
you
alone
remain
like
a
solitary
pole
on
a
mountaintop
or
a
banner
on
a
hill.
18
Therefore
the
LORD
is
waiting
to
show
you
mercy,
and
is
rising
up
to
show
you
compassion,
for
the
LORD
is
a
just
God.
Happy
are
all
who
wait
patiently
for
Him.
19
For
you
people
will
live
on
Zion
in
Jerusalem
and
will
never
cry
again.
He
will
show
favor
to
you
at
the
sound
of
your
cry;
when
He
hears,
He
will
answer
you.
20
The
Lord
will
give
you
meager
bread
and
water
during
oppression,
but
your
Teacher
will
not
hide
Himself
any
longer.
Your
eyes
will
see
your
Teacher,
21
and
whenever
you
turn
to
the
right
or
to
the
left,
your
ears
will
hear
this
command
behind
you:
"This
is
the
way.
Walk
in
it."
22
Then
you
will
defile
your
silver-plated
idols
and
your
gold-plated
images.
You
will
throw
them
away
like
menstrual
cloths,
and
call
them
filth.
23
Then
He
will
send
rain
for
your
seed
that
you
have
sown
in
the
ground,
and
the
food,
the
produce
of
the
ground,
will
be
rich
and
plentiful.
On
that
day
your
cattle
will
graze
in
open
pastures.
24
The
oxen
and
donkeys
that
work
the
ground
will
eat
salted
fodder
scattered
with
winnowing
shovel
and
fork.
25
Streams
and
watercourses
will
be
on
every
high
mountain
and
every
raised
hill
on
the
day
of
great
slaughter
when
the
towers
fall.
26
The
moonlight
will
be
as
bright
as
the
sunlight,
and
the
sunlight
will
be
seven
times
brighter--
like
the
light
of
seven
days--
on
the
day
that
the
LORD
bandages
His
people's
injuries
and
heals
the
wounds
He
inflicted.
27
Look,
Yahweh
comes
from
far
away,
His
anger
burning
and
heavy
with
smoke.
His
lips
are
full
of
fury,
and
His
tongue
is
like
a
consuming
fire.
28
His
breath
is
like
an
overflowing
torrent
that
rises
to
the
neck.
He
comes
to
sift
the
nations
in
a
sieve
of
destruction
and
to
put
a
bridle
on
the
jaws
of
the
peoples
to
lead
them
astray.
29
Your
singing
will
be
like
that
on
the
night
of
a
holy
festival,
And
your
heart
will
rejoice
like
one
who
walks
to
the
music
of
a
flute,
going
up
to
the
mountain
of
the
LORD,
to
the
Rock
of
Israel.
30
And
the
LORD
will
make
the
splendor
of
His
voice
heard
and
reveal
His
arm
striking
in
angry
wrath
and
a
flame
of
consuming
fire,
in
driving
rain,
a
torrent,
and
hailstones.
31
Assyria
will
be
shattered
by
the
voice
of
the
LORD.
He
will
strike
with
a
rod.
32
And
every
stroke
of
the
appointed
staff
that
the
LORD
brings
down
on
him
will
be
to
the
sound
of
tambourines
and
lyres;
He
will
fight
against
him
with
brandished
weapons.
33
Indeed!
Topheth
has
been
ready
for
the
king
for
a
long
time
now.
His
funeral
pyre
is
deep
and
wide,
with
plenty
of
fire
and
wood.
The
breath
of
the
LORD,
like
a
torrent
of
brimstone,
kindles
it.
Ezekiel 13:11
11
therefore,
tell
those
who
plaster
it
that
it
will
fall.
Torrential
rain
will
come,
and
I
will
send
hailstones
plunging
down,
and
a
windstorm
will
be
released.
